Objective

This fabric shop got its start as an Etsy shop. The owner, Rachel, specializes in selling unique fabrics created by exclusive designers. It was my goal to create a website that captivated her visitors but did not overpower the unique designs of the fabric.

Obstacles

She had an expansive list of rotating inventory that needed to be kept current on her website as well as Etsy. She didn’t want to over (or under) sell inventory to her followers and she wanted to start shifting away from Etsy.

Solution

I worked with Rachel to create a website that worked for her and her extensive list of revolving inventory. We created a website that acts as her hub, showcased all of the fabric designers she uses, created an integration with Trunk to sync inventory between Squarespace and Etsy which allowed for customers to search through her inventory whether on her website or in her Etsy shop.

The Process

Step One

She completed the onboarding client questionnaire so I could get an in depth understanding of her business and goals as well as inspiration for other brands and websites that she loved.

Step Two

We met for a strategy meeting walking through her responses to make sure I had a proper understanding of her needs followed by a inventory integration.

Step Three

We worked together in phases. I would complete a few pages at a time to make sure we were able to focus on core pieces of the project at once as well as to not overwhelm during the web design process.

Step Four

Finally, we did an audit, spruced up her SEO settings and launched his website!

Olivia was just a pleasure to work with. She understood the requirements, would ask clarifying questions when I wasn’t clear on my requirements and was so accommodating to my crazy schedule. She produced the exact product I was looking for and then some.
